Rockin' Reviews: X-Men Days of Future Past!!! (And Last Post *tear*)

Hey, hey, hey Marvel fans! Last night I went to see X-Men Days of Future Past and I have a few things I would like to say about this movie. First off, let me just say wow wow wow to those centennial cgi's. This movie has everything an x-men movie should have: violence, sweet new mutants, comedy, and a good wolverine fight. In this movie the X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate attempt to save the future and the fates of both mutants and humans. Besides the amazing plot, the acting was on point. *cough* Michael Fassbender *cough* .

Quicksilver, a new addition to the X-Men family, was played by none other than Evan Peters. The witty personality he put into Quicksilver was spot on, I loved every second he was on screen, and quite frankly I wish he had MORE screen time. As most people may or may not know the character Quicksilver will also be in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but is played by Aaron-Taylor Johnson. The weird thing about this is both we in the superhero movie Kick-Ass back in 2010. The question here is, who will play the part better?

Back on topic, the movie was everything I wanted it to be and more. Even the famous end credits scene was magnificent. I RECOMMEND YOU WATCH THIS MOVIE!

This will also be my very last post :( It's been great writing on this blog, and writing on a topic that I care so much about. Movies are more than just entertainment they are expression of self.

Story Time and Rockin' Reviews: Heaven is For Real

First off I had the privilege of going to see a special showing of it last April 10th. I won tickets to the early showing from my 3rd hour teacher Ms. Tran. some of the other people who won tickets were Luke Martin and Kayla Wright. Each Ticket allowed for two people admission. I immediately thought of taking my mom, who LOVES the book and is kinda obsessed with it, with me to be my date to the movie. We were so excited that we left an hour early to see the movie, but to our surprise that did us no good. First of all we got stuck in traffic on the highway because of a bad accident between a car a and a truck. Finally free from the the build up after 15 minutes we headed off to Star Theatre only to have of dreams crushed. They told us that the movie was sold out, and i understand that it does say (in small print) on the ticket that just because you have the ticket doesn't mean you will get in, but why would they print out more tickets to a showing than they can fit in their theatre!? After pleading with the lady she went to go check for any open seats and managed to find some for us in the very... front... row. Which we had no choice but to agree to.

NOW ON WITH THE REVIEW!

I you are not familiar with 'Heaven is For Real' it is based off a TRUE book of the same name. The book follows the life of the Burpos and their son named Colton who after going into surgery for a punctured appendix claims he went to heaven. Even though the Burpos and his Father Todd, a pastor at the local church, are a very Christian family they (along with the rest of the town) don't know if they believe Colton or not.

From a person that is not very religious like at all I can say that this movie is sincerely good. I liked it a lot. It's heart touching and has a bit of humor. I recommend all of you see it if you get the chance.

10 Year Anniversary of Mean Girls!

On Wednesdays we wear pink!

Today, April 30th, marks the 10 year anniversary of Mean Girls! If you haven't seen Mean Girls then you obviously don't go here....

It's hard to believe that after a decade Mean Girls is still highly thought of by just about everyone. It's popularity mostly comes from it's the quotable script written by Tina Fey, who says she was able to find funny in what was the victimization of young women in school, or maybe it's the very well acted characters.

Admit it, You can't say that this wasn't some of Lindsey Lohan's best work, and since her career took a turn for the worst a few years later this movie sort of acts as a time capsule to one of the proclaimed most promising young actors at the time.

You can see Mean Girls on just about any movie channel today, and now that Mean Girls has made it on to Netflix you can sit back, relax and have it one replay. This isn't the only media that has embraced this most gracious day. Social media took it upon themselves including the infamous haven for fandoms of all shapes and sizes, Tumblr, has dedicated posts and trended hashtags to celebrate this wondrous day!

So there is one last thing to ask.....

Who here has been personally victimized by Regina George?

MTV Movie Awards 2014!

Tonight is the night I've been waiting for all week..... the MTV Movie Awards! For those of you who don't know 'the awards' (this is what I will refer to as the MTV movie awards) are like a really big deal. Especially for us youngsters who don't necessarily care for the boring-ness of the Oscars. Not saying that I think the Oscars are boring but I know a lot of people do.

The awards are a fun way of rewarding those who made us laugh out loud, swoon over their shirtless-ness, cry for a million years, and much more. Some of the more MTV-ish categories this year include: best scared-as-sh*t moment, bets shirtless performance, and #wtf moment. If you want to know who I voted for let's just say Jessica Chastain, Sam Claflin, and Channing Tatum & Danny Mcbride.

And of course let's not for get about the Movie of the Year award! This years nominees are 12 Years Slave, The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Wolf of Wall Street, and American Hustle. I'm not surprised that these movies are in this categories. They are all great movies, and it took me a very long time to chose which one to vote for.

This year Conan O'brien will be the host which means this year should be too raunchy compared to past years and hosts. The pre-show starts are 8:30 p.m EST and The Awards start at 9:00 p.m EST. You wont want to miss this!

Frozen Mania!

If you haven't been living under a rock in the past 5 months you know that the craze with "Frozen" is far from over. "Frozen" has been hailed as one of the best movies of all time by it's insane fans which call themselves "frozenholics" who praise the film for its success, and they were right.

With it's premier in Japan last weekend "Frozen" has taken the title of  "No. 1 Animated Film of All Time" of 1.072 billion worldwide box office sales from it's previous holder "Toy Story 3" of 1.06 billion worldwide box office sales.

This two-time Oscar winner joined the billion dollar club back in early march. Which in this case isn't too bad for the movie only being released for the first time back in late November. "Frozen" is playing in 36 countries including South Korea and Germany.

It's no surprise that "Frozen" is now the no. 1 animated film of all time. From day one of it's release the movies popularity was through the roof. In my opinion "Frozen" is a really great movie and deserves everything it's received.
